Dragonkind Game by Rebecca Yarros

Dragonkind is the official Threshing game from the author of Fourth Wing. Here is how it works, how to start, and what to do when a dragon burns you.

What is the Dragonkind game?

Dragonkind is a free, choose-your-own-adventure game at dragonkind.com. You play a first-year cadet in the Riders Quadrant at Basgiath War College and walk through Threshing until a dragon bonds you, or burns you. Rebecca Yarros opened it on October 1, 2026, two days after the Threshing Day book came out.

How to play Dragonkind

1. Sign up. Go to dragonkind.com and register with your email.
2. Get sorted. The game places you into a wing, a section and a squad.
3. Face Threshing. Make your choices as you walk among the dragons.
4. Bond or burn. A dragon either chooses you or you do not survive.
5. Wait if you fail. A failed run locks you out for four hours.

The 4-hour retry rule

The lockout is the most frustrating part of Dragonkind. Note the time you were burned and use our Dragonkind retry timer so you know exactly when you can walk back in.

Which dragon can you get?

In the books, dragons come in six colors (red, orange, brown, green, blue and black) with five battle tail types, plus the rare feathertail. Black is the rarest color. See the dragon types chart and the black dragon guide.
